Cassowary

Eastern Bandicoot

Southern Cassowary (Endangered )

There are fewer than 2,000 birds left , all of them in Far North Queensland. Numbers of local people are working hard to protect this large endangered bird and it’s habitat. Visitors are quite likely to meet one, but are strongly urged not to feed them. If fed, they can become dependent, and sometimes dangerous. Visit the C4-Conservation Centre, Nursery and Arboretum for more information
